How do I change the Wi-Fi hotspot name and password in my Ford?
You can modify your vehicle's Wi-Fi® hotspot* password using your SYNC®** or Digital Experience† system.
Changing Your Wi-Fi Hotspot Password
Select Digital Experience or your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to change your Wi-Fi hotspot name and password. If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option.
Identifying Your SYNC Generation

Digital Experience
- Tap the Apps Drawer icon (six dots) on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Select Hotspot.
- Press Settings.
- Either:
- Press Change Password and enter your new password.
- Press Network Name and enter your new Wi-Fi hotspot name.
- Save your changes.

- Tap the Settings or Home icon on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Select Connectivity.
- Scroll to Vehicle Hotspot section.
- Choose Edit.
- Either:
- Press Change Password and enter your new password.
- Press Network Name and enter your new Wi-Fi hotspot name.
- Tap Done.

- Tap Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Select Vehicle Hotspot.
- Slide the Vehicle Hotspot slider to the right to enable this feature.
- Choose Settings.
- Tap Edit.
- Either:
- Press Change Password and enter your new password.
- Press Network Name and enter your new Wi-Fi hotspot name.
- Tap Done.
SYNC 3
- Tap Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Select either Wi-Fi & Hotspot or FordPass Connect.
- Press Settings.
- Choose Edit.
- Tap Change SSID Name.
- Enter your SSID Name. This is the name of your vehicle's Wi-Fi hotspot.
- Press Done.
- Select Change Password.
- Create a password.
- Choose Done.

*Connected service and features depend on AT&T network availability and compatible plan. 5G not available everywhere. Evolving technology/cellular networks/vehicle capability may limit functionality and prevent operation of connected features. Connected service excludes Wi-Fi hotspot.
