What charge level is recommended for daily driving?
Ford recommends that you charge to 90% for everyday driving and charge to 100% when you need the full range for a trip. Charging to 90% helps prolong the life of your battery.
What is the power of the onboard chargers (OBCs)?
The standard-range OBC input is 11.3kW and the extended-range dual OBC is 19.2kW. Vehicle onboard chargers limit the amount of power a vehicle can accept during charge events. Therefore, you should consider your onboard charger capability with the power capability of your charge equipment, as well as the spare power of your home energy circuit, when deciding which is the right home charging solution for you. Does the F-150 Lightning come with a charge cord?
The 30A Mobile Power Cord available with the Ford F-150 Lighting allows you to charge from a traditional 120V or a 240V outlet. Can I use the Mobile Power Cord with a regular 120V outlet?
Yes, you can use the Mobile Power Cord on a 120V or 240V outlet. The 120V allows you to get some charge just about anywhere you can plug in, but it is the slowest way to charge at about two miles on average per charging hour**.
Can the F-150 Lightning charge other EVs?
Yes, with the Mobile Power Cord and an additional aftermarket adapter (P/N 691944Y sold separately by Parkworld), the Pro Power Onboard feature will allow the F-150 Lightning with the 9.6kW option and F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid with the 7.2kW option to charge other J1772-equipped EVs.

The extended-range F-150 Lightning vehicles are both alternating current (AC) and DC adaptable with a 19.2kW onboard charger and are designed to charge quickly on a DC fast charger, allowing a controlled boost up to 155kW. Can I use Ford’s Intelligent Backup Power with a competitor solar or battery setup (like Tesla Powerwall)?
In order to do so, the Ford Charge Station Pro would need to be installed with the Home Integration System, which is available through Sunrun. What happens if I run out of charge on the road?
Ford Roadside Assistance can help. You can choose where you would like to have your vehicle towed and recharged within 35 miles of your vehicle location: your home, a public charge station or an EV-Certified dealer. If beyond 35 miles, Ford will take you to the nearest available option. Ford Roadside Assistance in the US is included with your F-150 Lightning for five years/60,000 miles (from date of sale to whichever comes first), with the option to extend after that.
Can I charge at a 350kW charge station?
Yes. Most Electrify America DC fast chargers can deliver up to 350kW of power, but your Ford all-electric vehicle will only accept up to 120kW or 155kW, depending on if you have the standard-range or extended-range battery, respectively.
Can non-Ford vehicles charge with Ford’s home chargers?
Yes, Ford charging solutions use the J1772 plug, which is the North American industry standard. It works for all-electric vehicles in North America, except Tesla. There is an aftermarket adapter for Teslas to charge on J1772 charge plugs.
What information do I need to provide to my licensed electrician for a home charging installation quote?

Can I use Ford Intelligent Backup Power with my Mustang Mach-E or E-Transit?

Do I need to purchase the Home Integration System now, or can I wait until later?
