        Driver-Assist Technology Helps Mind Your Business

        During any workday, several employees could be driving your Transit Connect. Which means different levels of driving expertise. With that in mind, a wide range of technologies have been developed to help keep all drivers confident behind the wheel. And to help manage your fleet, no matter how big your fleet is, a factory installed telematics modem enables real-time connectivity while your employees are on the road.

        Standard Pre-Collision Assist With Pedestrian Detection*

        If the system’s sensors detect a potential collision with a car or pedestrian in front of you, a warning flashes on the instrument cluster and an audible alert sounds. Also, the brakes will precharge and increase brake-assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you do brake. If you do not take corrective action and collision is imminent, brakes can automatically apply.
        *Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver's attention, judgment and the need to control the vehicle. Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection can detect pedestrians, but not in all conditions and does not replace safe driving. See owner’s manual for system limitations.

        Lane-Keeping System

        The available driver-activated Lane-Keeping System can alert you to unintentional lane drifting.* Select either the lane-keeping alert mode that vibrates the steering wheel when you drift too close to a lane marker or the lane-keeping aid mode that activates directional steering torque to help you guide your vehicle back into the lane. Or combine both modes: if drifting continues after the steering torque is activated, the steering wheel adds the vibrating alert.
        *Lane-Keeping System does not control steering. Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver's attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle.

        Enhanced Active Park Assist

        Available enhanced active park assist can virtually parallel or perpendicularly park your Transit Connect. While you’re driving slowly near parking spots, activate this feature and your vehicle will scan for an available one. Ultrasonic sensors measure your distance from parked vehicles and, once an appropriate spot is identified, you’re signaled to stop to let the system assist. With a few actions on your part – shifting, accelerating and braking – the vehicle can smoothly parallel park or back into a perpendicular parking space.*

        Side-Wind Stabilization*

        Side-wind stabilization helps deliver more control when driving in crosswinds. The system will automatically apply the brakes on one side of the vehicle to help reduce the effect of a sudden sidewind gust. When active, the stability and traction control light flashes and a message may appear in the information display. The driver may feel a slight deceleration, and may still need to make a steering correction to maintain the intended path.

      We’ve Got a Powertrain for That.

      Coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the standard 2.0L GDI I-4 engine provides plenty of power. For an added degree of performance, a direct-injected 1.5L I-4 EcoBlue® Diesel is also available on Transit Connect (and standard on short-wheelbase passenger wagons). With either engine, standard Auto Start-Stop Technology engages whenever the vehicle comes to a stop at idle – potentially reducing fuel consumption and vehicle emissions.
