What's new on the 2027 Ford Explorer?

All 2027 Ford Explorer models now come with the available Ford Security Package, included for a year from the new-vehicle warranty start date or available as a one-time purchase option. There are two new colors available — Avalanche Gray and Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat.

Many models also have new options available. Platinum™ can be upgraded with the available 3.0-liter EcoBoost® engine, which also includes a variety of features like quilted leather seating surfaces and an exclusive wheel style. Tremor® models with the 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine can now add the Sun & Sound Package, which includes an upgraded B&O® Sound System, massaging front seats, and a power moonroof. ST offers a brand-new dark appearance package, the Sinister Package, which includes an exclusive wheel style and amber accent lights. Active, ST-Line, Platinum, and ST allow you to delete the standard roof rails with the Slick Roof Conversion option. All models offer the available panoramic Vista Roof® with power shade.

What is the seating capacity for the 2027 Ford Explorer?

Explorer SUVs seat six or seven people, depending on the model and options selected. Second-row captain’s chairs are standard on all models, while

all models except Tremor® are available with a second-row bench seat that adds capacity for one additional passenger.
