Escape was designed to make your everyday treks easy, featuring a host of smart offerings like available Intelligent Access with push-button start. Want to carry lots of cargo? No problem. The rear seats fold to provide up to 68 cu. ft. of cargo capacity. Accessing the rear of the vehicle is also a breeze, thanks to an available hands-free, foot-activated liftgate. Escape even provides a little help when backing up, thanks to the standard rear view camera and available Reverse Sensing System.

Fold both rear seat backs for a flat load surface and up to 68 cu. ft. of total cargo space. Or fold down either of the 60/40 split rear seat backs and still have room for a passenger. If you’re carrying items such as luggage, leave both seat backs up and you’ll have 34 cu. ft. of cargo space. For more space, available roof-rack side rails with available crossbars* let you carry more cargo, especially items that don’t transport easily inside the vehicle.

Hands-Free, Foot-Activated Liftgate

Thanks to the available hands-free, foot-activated liftgate, there’s no need to fumble for keys. Its hands-free operation is especially helpful when your arms are full of items like grocery bags. With the Intelligent Access key in your pocket or purse, kick your foot under the bumper and the liftgate opens. You can also adjust the liftgate height, helpful for lower overhangs. Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start 

Simply have the available Intelligent Access key in your pocket or purse, then touch the door handle. Once inside, press the brake pedal and then the start button. Shift into gear and go. Standard on SE, SEL and Titanium.

Reverse Sensing System

While slowly backing up, you’ll hear a series of beeps if you near an object. The closer you get to the object, the faster the beeps. Standard on SEL and Titanium models.
