1.5L EcoBoost® Engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology
The standard 1.5L EcoBoost engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology is coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Auto Start-Stop Technology that can help lower fuel consumption and vehicle emissions during city driving when your vehicle comes to a stop. The engine shuts off and then seamlessly restarts when you step on the accelerator or when your foot leaves the brake pedal.

Hybrid 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-Cycle I-4 engine
The 2.5L I-4 Atkinson-cycle powertrain features an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT) and an 88 kW electric motor. Also, the all-new Escape Hybrid packages its liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery smartly outside of the vehicle below the floor of the second-row seats rather than occupying a significant portion of the cargo area. The briefcase-shaped battery in the standard hybrid measures less than one-third the size of the previous generation Escape Hybrid battery. Standard on all Escape Hybrid* and plug-in hybrid models**.

Available AWD with Disconnect
Designed to save fuel, available All-Wheel Drive with Disconnect can disable the rear driveline when the system detects AWD is not needed. This allows only the front wheels to propel the vehicle, reducing drag and the overall energy demands of the drivetrain.

Towing Capability
Escape Titanium with its 2.0L EcoBoost®
engine has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. when equipped with the Class II Trailer Tow Package. The standard 1.5L EcoBoost®
engine, when properly equipped, can tow up to 2,000 lbs. And don’t forget about hybrid capability because when properly equipped, the hybrid* is powered by the 2.5L I-4 and can tow up to 1,500 lbs.
