How do I use Waze with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay?

Waze, a community-driven navigation app that provides real-time traffic and road information, can be used in your vehicle with SYNC®* for turn-by-turn directions.

Launching Waze With SYNC

Important:

  • Your vehicle must be parked and running, and in an open, well-ventilated, and safe area.
  • Waze can only be used with Apple CarPlay®** or Android Auto™** on the vehicle's screen using SYNC 4A, SYNC 4, or SYNC 3.
  • While using SYNC 3, the phone must be tethered to a cord that supports data sharing with the SYNC system to activate Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Refer to your device's manual for more information.

Select Apple CarPlay or Android Auto from the drop-down options below for instructions on setting up Waze. If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option.
