22S55: Mustang Mach-E (2022) Halfshaft Recall

The right rear halfshaft on your vehicle could break while driving.

The transmission torque to the rear wheels will be lost if the right rear halfshaft breaks. The vehicle will then be unable to remain in park. To prevent unwanted and potentially dangerous rolling, the parking brake must be manually engaged until an inspection of the right rear halfshaft and any necessary repairs can be made.

Your Ford Dealer will inspect the right rear halfshaft serial number and if found to be suspect, will replace it at no cost.

The mobile inspection will take less than an hour. If a repair is needed, your vehicle will be towed and repaired at your local dealer.

If you want to take your vehicle to the dealership, the inspection will be completed in less than half a day. However, due to service scheduling requirements, it may take longer.

Schedule an inspection by calling your Ford Dealer. You can also book your appointment online or in the Ford app. If it’s more convenient, a mobile technician can come to you and if your Mustang Mach-E^® requires service, we can pick up, service and return your vehicle with Ford Pickup & Delivery. Your dealer may also be able to provide a loaner vehicle for you, so please ask about vehicle availability and these service options, which are all offered at no charge.

You can continue to drive your Mustang Mach-E^®, but you should contact your dealer for an appointment to have your vehicle inspected as soon as possible. Starting now, manually apply the electronic parking brake whenever your Mustang Mach-E^® is parked.

If a right rear halfshaft replacement is required, your dealer will provide a loaner vehicle, based on availability, at no charge. Please see your dealer for guidelines and limitations.
