Making sure you’re comfortable driving your vehicle is our top priority, which is why we are alerting Maverick truck owners to a potential compliance issue in some 2022 models. The side airbag system in certain models does not meet NHTSA requirements. The solution is to replace the side-curtain airbags on both sides of the truck with an updated airbag system. Owners with affected trucks have been contacted directly, and you can also confirm your recall status by entering your VIN here.
We are happy to report the new side-curtain airbag systems are now available and ready to be installed. The replacement parts and service are offered at no charge, and your local Ford Dealer is ready to take appointments.
