When will I receive my Ford Credit title?
If your account was paid-in-full by a third-party, such as a dealership, financial institution, or insurance company, the title or lien release will be released or mailed to the party that paid off the vehicle.
Paper Titles
For Paper Title states, Ford Credit will mail your title to you or your designee within 10 days of your payoff date unless you have the paper title. If you hold the paper title, a Lien Release document will be mailed within 10 days of your payoff date.
Electronic Titles
For Electronic Title states, Ford Credit will release the lien within 10 days of your payoff date, and the motor vehicle agency holding your title will automatically mail a paper title to you or your designee (this can take upwards of 6 weeks). In some states, you will not automatically receive a paper title and may need to contact your motor vehicle agency to request a paper title (fees may apply).
Note: If your account is currently enrolled in automatic payments or you already have a single online payment scheduled for less than the payoff amount, you may want to cancel your enrollment or your scheduled payment to avoid overpayment. Cancellation must be completed before 9:00 p.m. ET, two or more business days prior to the scheduled payment due date.
