Why is the Lane-Keeping System in my Ford not working?

Your Lane-Keeping System* relies on several conditions to function properly.

  • It only activates at speeds above 40 mph.
  • The system requires the forward-facing camera to detect at least one clear lane marking.
  • When you select Aid or Alert and Aid mode, and the system does not detect sufficient steering activity, even if you have a light grip on the wheel, it may interpret this as hands-off driving and alert you to place your hands on the steering wheel.
  • The system may not function if the forward-facing camera, located on the windshield, is blocked by dirt, snow, or debris, or if the windshield itself is damaged or dirty, obstructing the forward-facing camera's view.
