What happens if I lose my device and Ford app is active?

Your lost mobile phone and email can allow access to your Ford app account(s), which can be used to bypass your vehicle's security. Use the steps below to regain security.

1. Secure your email used to register with the Ford app to prevent others from accessing it.
   • Submit a Reset Account Password request to send a security email confirmation to the registered email.
   • Consider changing the password on your email account.
     
     Important: This may trigger a sign-out on other devices and applications. This helps to ensure no unauthorized person has access to your email.

3. Obtain a new or temporary device that is Which devices are compatible with FordPass?.
4. Download the Ford app from the App Store^® (iOS^®) or Google Play^™ (Android^™).
5. Open the Ford app and initiate a Reset Account Password.
6. Enter your new credentials on the Ford app login screen after resetting your password.
7. Check your vehicle list once the Ford app loads.
8. Proceed to How do I activate my vehicle's modem using the Ford app? again for command-and-control access.
   
   Important: Only grant vehicle activation permission to accounts you know and trust.
