You want one built to last. Ford and Motorcraft remanufactured Power Stroke Diesel engines like the load-hauling 7.3L are the only reman engines authorized by Ford Motor Company. Several different build levels are available, allowing you to purchase only what you need, saving you costs and time.
Anyone can find service specs in any workshop manual. These specs allow the engine to operate adequately. Manufacturer’s specs, however, are proprietary to us. Meeting these specifications ensures optimal operation. That’s why only Ford can rebuild a Power Stroke engine to its original quality.
For assemblies sold over-the-counter by a Dealer or Installer, an over-the-counter customer (retail, fleet, or general installer) can receive warranty reimbursement by the following options.

The Power Stroke Diesel story began in 1982, when the Ford Motor Company made a decision that would transform their Super Duty® pickups into the most highly regarded and hottest-selling trucks in America.
6.9L — 1982–1993 Model Years
That first power plant, the 6.9L Indirect Injection (IDI) engine, featured a modest 170 HP and 315 lb.-ft. of torque. The truck world eagerly greeted that very first Power Stroke diesel.
7.3L — 1988–1993 Model Years
Soon after came the next-generation Ford Super Duty truck with the amazing 7.3L IDI diesel engine.
7.3L — 1994–2003 Model Years
The 7.3L was reborn revolutionizing the diesel truck industry, with not just the addition of an all-new turbocharger, Direct Injection (DI), and incredible new power, but also the birth of the Power Stroke name.
6.0L — 2003–2007 Model Years
The next-generation 6.0L Power Stroke introduced variable geometry turbocharger technology, exhaust gas recirculation system, and advanced second-generation fuel injection system.
6.4L — 2007–2010 Model Years
A new 6.4L diesel with twin turbochargers and high-pressure common rail fuel injection, this engine’s cutting-edge technology pumped out an amazing 350 HP @ 3000 RPM with a peak torque output of 650 lb.-ft. at just 2000 RPM.
6.7L — 2011–Current Model Year
A built-from-scratch, state-of-the-art 6.7L Power Stroke® diesel included Instant Start glow plugs, a new lightweight compacted graphite iron engine block, aluminum cylinder heads, and piston-cooling jets for longer engine life.

Complete Diesel Engine and Long Block Assemblies
Coverage runs 24 months from the warranty start date with unlimited miles. During this period, Ford will cover 100% of all parts and labor at approved warranty reimbursement rates. If installed by a dealer, reasonable towing charges (up to 35 miles or to the nearest Dealer) are covered only if the vehicle is not covered under other towing insurance coverage.
Diesel Engine Stripped Long Blocks and Short Block
These products are covered for 12 months from the warranty start date (unlimited miles). Ford will cover 100% of all parts and labor at approved warranty reimbursement rates. If installed by a dealer, reasonable towing charges (up to 35 miles or to the nearest Dealer) are covered only if the vehicle is not covered under another towing insurance coverage.
Service Parts
The Service Parts Warranty (SPW) applies to all Motorcraft® and Genuine Ford parts sold to customers or installed on a customer-paid repair, effective October 1, 2013. SPW labor for parts sold over the counter is reimbursable to requesting fleets and installers: limit of $75 per repair.
