How to Get Reimbursed

Follow these steps to get a maximum reimbursement of $1,000. Your reimbursement check will be mailed to you two to four weeks after your Ford dealer submits the reimbursement claim.

Step 1

Purchase a Ford Vehicle That Fits Your Accessibility Needs

Visit your Ford dealer and select the right vehicle for you. They will help facilitate transport, modification, and equipment installation.

Step 2

Order Adaptive Equipment

Purchase the adaptive equipment you need from a modifier, including QVMs (Qualified Vehicle Modifiers).

Step 3

Submit Receipts to Your Ford Dealer

Provide a Vehicle Bill of Sale and Paid Adaptive Equipment Invoice that both include the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number).

Vehicles

The following vehicles are eligible for reimbursement:

  • New Ford cars, vans, CUVs, SUVs, or trucks sold or leased during the program period
  • New vehicles acquired from a U.S. Ford Pool Converter

Modifications

The following are not eligible:

  • Modifications and equipment for used vehicles
  • Equipment available as a factory option
  • Running boards, lumbar seats and power door openers when available from the factory

  • Carriers
  • Lifts
  • Parking brakes
  • Door openers
  • Power assist seats
  • Wheelchair restraints
  • Hand controls
  • Steering devices

Additional Details

The following may require additional documentation from a certified medical professional:

  • Assist handles
  • Keyless entry and ignition switches
  • Lumbar support and headrest adjustment
  • Pedal extensions
  • Power seats
  • Remote liftgate opener
  • Running boards
  • Seat belt extenders and seat modifications
  • Special mirrors
