The F-450 series generally offers greater towing capacity than the F-350, especially for gooseneck and 5th-wheel towing. While the F-450 is designed with components for extreme hauling and enhanced durability (wider front axle and larger 19.5-inch wheels), certain configurations of the F-350 — particularly those with dual rear wheel and gas engines — can actually offer a higher payload capacity. Choosing between single and dual often comes down to your individual trucking needs. Find the Super Duty truck with just the right towing capacity and explore equipment you'll need using Ford's towing guide:

Single rear wheel (SRW) has one wheel on each side of the rear axle. This option is best suited for light to moderate towing and everyday driving, as it offers better maneuverability. Dual rear wheel (DRW) has two wheels on each side of the rear axle. This option is ideal for heavy-duty towing and hauling due to its greater stability, higher towing and payload capacity, and improved weight distribution.
