DIESEL ENGINE-EXHAUST BRAKING

The 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel incorporates a driver-activated engine-exhaust brake. It restricts the turbocharger’s exhaust flow to generate back pressure and slow the vehicle, providing greater control while traveling downhill, regardless of vehicle load or road grade. Also, because the engine brake helps minimize having to apply pedal pressure, brake fade and lining wear are reduced, lowering the cost of maintenance. Three settings are available: On, Off, and Auto. The Auto setting modulates engine braking as needed to help maintain the speed you want based on accelerator and brake pedal use.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL WITH COLLISION WARNING

Available Adaptive Cruise Control slows you down as traffic ahead slows, then resumes the preset speed when traffic picks back up. The Collision Warning/Brake Support feature precharges the brakes for full responsiveness. if you don’t react in time. It’s integrated into the trailer brake controller for added security when you’re towing a heavy load.10

CLASS-EXCLUSIVE LIVE-DRIVE PTO

Whether your Super Duty® runs on diesel or gas power, available is the optional class-exclusive* Live-Drive Power Takeoff (PTO) Provision with Mobile Mode.** An output gear connected to the crankshaft powers a PTO when the engine is running, whether in motion or stopped. Multiple accessories can be operated at the same time when the truck is stopped.

Compressed natural gas propane as an alternative fuel to unleaded gasoline

ADVANCED FUEL OPTIONS

Compressed natural gas (CNG) and propane are advanced fuel options to unleaded gasoline with the CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package,* available on the 6.2L gas V8. What’s more, the CNG/Propane Package with the addition of the necessary upfits for bi-fuel capability enables the 6.2L V8 to run on either liquefied propane gas or unleaded gas. The 6.2L V8 is a flex-fuel engine, capable of running on E85 (85% ethanol, 15% regular gasoline); the available 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel is B20-capable (20% biodiesel, 80% petrodiesel).
*Vehicle will be equipped with the standard factory gasoline fuel system. The CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package includes hardened exhaust valves and valve seats. It does not include compressed natural gas/propane fuel tanks and lines, etc. See your dealer for details.
