Safety meets flexibility.

Transit Connect Passenger Wagon delivers more than just the flexibility you need to get through everyday life – it has also been honored with a 5-Star Overall Crash Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).* It’s what happens when you focus on engineering confidence for the road with features like a standard Safety Canopy® System, Curve Control and AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control (RSC® ).
*Government 5-Star Safety Ratings are part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA’s) New Car Assessment Program (www.safercar.gov ).
Trailer Sway Control

Trailer Sway Control

Trailer sway control39 helps you tow more confidently by automatically determining from the motion of the vehicle if the trailer is swaying. It then takes measures, such as applying precise braking or reducing engine torque, to help you keep both the vehicle and the trailer under control.

Curve Control

Curve Control

Curve Control helps drivers maintain control when entering a curve too fast by reducing engine torque and applying four-wheel braking to reduce speed.39

For the 2018 Transit Connect Wagon, we put safety first so you can have the confidence to follow your own road to adventure and discovery. It’s also nice having confidence on the road when driving to soccer practice, dance lessons and dental appointments too.

Standard AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control

AdvanceTrac® with RSC®

Find enhanced control in slick conditions. The standard RSC provides enhanced side-slip control and electronic rollover stability for the vehicle. It utilizes gyroscopic sensors to monitor vehicle roll motion and the rate of turning in milliseconds. This helps determine when and how RSC will utilize the brakes to help keep all four wheels of the vehicle firmly planted.39
Safety Canopy System

Safety Canopy® System

Located in the roof-rack side rails behind the headliner, the side-curtain airbags* deploy downward and outward toward the side-window opening to protect the heads of outboard passengers. It’s triggered independently of the driver and front-passenger airbags by side-impact sensors. Roll-fold technology helps the airbag slide between the glass and occupant as the airbag inflates. The Safety Canopy System will not interfere with properly installed child-safety seats or booster seats and is designed to stay inflated longer for added protection in a rollover.
*Always wear your safety belt and secure children in the rear seat.
