How to Use Bronco Trail Control

When you're ready to take on the great outdoors, just press the Trail Control button located on the center console G.O.A.T. Modes^™ (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) dial.

How to Set Bronco Trail Control Speed

Similar to cruise control, Trail Control is engaged by buttons on your steering wheel. To engage the system, simply:

• Drive to preferred speed
• Select SET + to increase the set current speed
• Select SET - to decrease the set current speed
• The set speed can also be adjusted by braking

When Is Bronco Trail Control Not Available?

Trail Control is unavailable when any of the following occur:

• The vehicle speed is greater than 20 mph (32 km/h) in 2WD High or 4WD High modes
• The vehicle speed is greater than 9 mph (15 km/h) in 4WD Low mode
• The vehicle speed is greater than 3 mph (5 km/h) in Reverse (R)
• The transmission is in Park (P)
• The driver’s side door is open, or the driver's safety belt is off when the driver’s side door is removed
• Cruise control is on

Simplicity of use on the trail was paramount in the creation of the Ford Bronco SUV. So much so that the engineers even made braking and accelerating easier thanks to Trail 1-Pedal Drive, available exclusively on Bronco models with the 2.7-liter engine.

How Does Trail 1-Pedal Drive Work?

The name says it all. The performance speaks volumes. When it’s engaged, you only have to use one pedal (the accelerator) to control the speed of the vehicle. As you ease off the accelerator pedal, the brakes engage. Releasing the accelerator completely will bring your Bronco SUV to a controlled stop.

How to Turn Trail 1-Pedal Drive On and Off

Whether you're starting from any G.O.A.T. Modes or from Trail Control, engaging Trail 1-Pedal Drive is easy:

• To activate the feature, just press the trail features button located in the center of the G.O.A.T. Modes dial when you're in either 4WD High or 4WD Low
• When using Trail Control in 4WD High or 4WD Low modes, you can switch to Trail 1-Pedal Drive by pressing the CAN button on the steering wheel
• Press the trail features button located in the center of the G.O.A.T. Modes dial again to switch Trail 1-Pedal Drive off

When to Not Use Trail 1-Pedal Drive

Trail 1-Pedal Drive is unavailable when any of the following occur:

• The vehicle is not in 4WD High or 4WD Low
• Cruise Control or Trail Control is engaged
• Vehicle speed exceeds 30 mph (48 km/h)
• Releasing the accelerator pedal may not bring the vehicle to a complete stop on steep grades

Trail Control and Trail 1-Pedal Drive Troubleshooting

If a problem is detected, messages will appear on the instrument panel. They may help guide you through the steps needed to address the problem. Specific messages and corresponding actions can be found in the Owner’s Manual.
