Why is my eWID device no longer working with FordPass®*?
To reduce software complexity and increase quality, FordPass will be sunsetting support for EPID (Enterprise Plug-in Device) vehicles and eWID (Enterprise Wired-in Device). This product has enabled 2010-2018 model-year Ford vehicles with connected vehicle features similar to FordPass.
These impacted vehicles will no longer have the ability to activate or use connected features in FordPass after April 3, 2023. This includes connected features such as remote start, lock, and unlock. Communications to affected customers were targeted for March 1, 2023.
FordPass features in Account and Profile will not be impacted by this change. Service features, where available, will continue to be offered as well. Impacted users that choose to stop using FordPass after this change will still be able to access vehicle preferences through the in-vehicle software, and Account and Profile information will continue to be available through the Ford support website.
*The FordPass App, compatible with select smartphone platforms, is available through a free download. Message and data rates may apply.
