This past year, Ford and the Pro Football Hall of Fame surprised four incredible honorees from three different military organizations at their homes, with a visit from a Hall of Famer from their favorite NFL team. We wanted the honorees to enjoy a VIP experience as part of celebrating their welcome into the Ford Proud to Honor Hall of Heroes.
Our four honorees included retired Chinook helicopter pilot, Chinook instructor and 2020 Tillman Scholar Kevin Bubolz; Bronze Star recipient Charles Eggleston; retired Green Beret and Rescue 22 ambassador Steve Grewell; and Blue Star Families CEO Kathy Roth-Douquet. They were invited to attend the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement week in Canton, Ohio, and in exclusive events like the Gold Jacket Ceremony, State of the Hall meeting, Enshrinee Roundtable and Concert of Legends.
As an extra thank-you, the honorees were each gifted with a custom shadow box, which included an NFL Salute to Service camo jacket, Proud to Honor insignia patch, PFHOF autographed football and a photo of the honoree with the Hall of Famer who surprised them. To further commemorate this special event, Ford also donated $10,000 to organizations that our honorees chose.
At Ford, we are constantly coming up with ways to contribute to our service members across the country who selflessly give us so much, and whom, we feel, we can’t thank enough.
