While recovering at a military medical center from near-fatal injuries from an IED explosion in Iraq, Charles Eggleston encountered a medical system that he realized didn’t provide the level of care that he and other wounded warriors needed. So, Charles took action. He lobbied the powers that be. Thanks to Charles, things changed. The Army set up Warrior Transition Units all over the country to ensure that veterans got the care they deserved. And Charles didn’t stop there. He saw how much family and friends who care for wounded warriors needed support as well. So, working with Blue Star Families, Charles made sure caregivers got that support. To help in this noble effort, Ford donated $10,000 to Blue Star Families on behalf of Charles.
