FORD TORQSHIFT® HEAVY-DUTY 6-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

The Ford TorqShift® heavy-duty 6-speed automatic is specially designed with a three-plate/ two-stage torque converter, strengthened gearsets and extra pinion gears to handle the heavy demands of the 7.3L V8 gas engine. The SelectShift® feature has two modes: Progressive Range Select that limits the range of gears to lock out overdrive, plus full manual control. Another feature is Tow/Haul. On an uphill, it selects the gear that minimizes gear hunting; on a downhill, it prevents upshifting and increases in speed, reducing reliance on brake pressure to slow down. And the TorqShift offers available live-drive power take-off (PTO) provision with stationary and mobile modes.

DURABLE DANA SPICER® REAR AXLES

Ford Medium Duty trucks offer axle options from Dana Spicer®. Dana Spicer rear axles use GenTech gears for quiet operation and offer available synthetic lube for durability. Axles may vary by model.

ALTERNATOR CHOICES

F-650/F-750 trucks offer a wide range of alternators, starting with the standard 200-amp (diesel) or 210-amp (gas) and optional 240-amp (gas and diesel) alternators. For jobs that require extra power, there are available heavy-duty dual alternators. The 7.3L gas V8 engine* offers 240-amp/157-amp dual alternators for a combined 397-amp output. The 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel engine offers 200-amp/157-amp dual alternators for a combined 357-amp output.
*Not available with air brakes or air suspension.

ADVANCED FUEL OPTIONS

Compressed natural gas (CNG) and propane autogas are advanced fuel options to unleaded gasoline, with the CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package available on the 7.3L gas V8 engine. What’s more, the CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package, with the addition of the necessary upfits for bi-fuel capability, enables the 7.3L V8 to run on either liquefied propane gas or unleaded gas. For diesel trucks, the available 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel is B20-capable (20% biodiesel, 80% petrodiesel).
