Some of that weight savings was reinvested where it counts the most in a work truck - in stronger axles, beefier suspension components, and a fully boxed under-cab and C-channel aft-of-cab frame built of 95 percent high-strength steel with eight times more torsional stiffness than the previous frame.

LIVE-DRIVE PTO PROVISION WITH GAS OR DIESEL

 

The available Live-Drive Power Takeoff (PTO) Provision with Mobile Mode* lets you power an aftermarket accessory such as a snowplow. An output gear connects directly to the engine crankshaft to power your PTO anytime the engine is running, whether the truck is in motion or stopped. Another feature is “split-shaft” capability (diesel only) that generates greater power by providing a more direct output shaft to the transmission. Multiple accessories can be operated at the same time when the truck is stopped.

*Requires aftermarket power takeoff (PTO) accessory.
