Torque Vectoring Control and Curve Control

Torque Vectoring Control and Curve Control,39   standard on all Taurus models, are two components of AdvanceTrac® electronic stability control (ESC). Torque Vectoring Control uses the braking system to imitate the effect of a torque vectoring differential. In particular, when accelerating through corners, it applies braking to the front inside wheel, so more of the engine torque goes to the outside wheel, which has more grip. Curve Control will slow your vehicle when it senses that you’re going too fast into a particular curve. Employing throttle reduction and four-wheel braking intervention, it’s always active in helping you maintain control.

Electric Power-Assisted Steering

EPAS39   is powered by an electric motor instead of a hydraulic pump that draws power from the engine. What’s more, since it is speed-sensitive, EPAS can help correct for road irregularities and improve steering feel. EPAS also features pull-drift compensation, technology that helps you offset vehicle pulling or drifting that can occur in crosswinds or on uneven roads.
