2018 Mustang MagneRide Damping System

MagneRide® Damping System

Performance runs in our family. So it’s no wonder we borrowed the MagneRide Damping System you’ll find in the Shelby GT350® , improved upon it and tuned it specifically for the 2018 Mustang. This system provides lightning-quick responsiveness to changing road conditions. How quick? We’re talking 1,000 times per second. That’s how fast each damper adjusts automatically, and it’s the reason you can count on optimum handling performance.

MagneRide is a trademarked technology of BWI Group.

GT350 and Shelby are registered trademarks of Carroll Hall Shelby Trust.

Brake Lineup

We know your brakes can be just as important as that gas pedal. That’s why we offer a dynamic range of high-performance options.

Performance Packages

The EcoBoost® Performance and GT Performance packages let you elevate your Mustang's performance with the unique chassis tuning, summer-only tires*, TORSEN® limited-slip differential and upgraded braking performance.

TORSEN is a registered trademark of JTEKT Corporation.

*Ford does not recommend using summer tires when temperatures drop to approximately 45°F or below (depending on tire wear and environmental conditions) or in snow/ice conditions. If the vehicle must be driven in these conditions, Ford recommends using all-season or snow tires.

2018 Mustang Independent Rear Suspension

Independent Rear Suspension

The integral link independent rear suspension helps minimize body roll and isolate road imperfections for a responsive ride and precise handling. Aluminum-alloy rear knuckles and H-arms help reduce unsprung mass.

19-inch Forged-Aluminum Wheel

Mustang is offering 12 wheels this year. And the 19-inch Luster Nickel-painted forged-aluminum wheel* is one of the 10 new options.
*Available early 2018.

Selectable Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS)

You can select from three power-assist settings to give you the type of steering control you want when you want it.

Comfort: This setting involves the least amount of steering effort. Perfect for everyday driving.

Sport: This setting requires increased steering effort, delivering a more immediate connection to the road.

Normal: Finally, this setting gives you a balance between Comfort and Sport when you want to engage more, but still need some level of steering ease.
