Ford Transit - strength and dependability

Tested and Built Ford Tough®

Ford Transit has been subjected to seven million customer-equivalent miles of brutal testing in our labs and proving grounds, on roads and highways across America, at temperature extremes from -40 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Our objective was simple: make sure Transit could take on the toughest challenges of strength and dependability.

Unibody Construction

The Transit Cargo Van and Passenger Wagon are built with lightweight yet strong unibody construction. Front, rear and side rails are welded with the floor pan, crossmembers and torque boxes to form a single body. Unibody construction, while lighter in weight than body-on-frame, yields tremendous strength and durability. It's built with high-strength steel as well as boron steel in select areas.
