    Standard on the Super Duty® XL and XLT F-450/F-550 Chassis Cabs, the 6.8L V10, with features such as a free-breathing 3-valve-per-cylinder induction system, continues building its reputation as a dependable powerplant with its impressive 362 horsepower and 457 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s mated to a 5-speed TorqShift® automatic transmission. You’ll be interested to know that a CNG/LPG Gaseous Engine Prep Package for power conversion to compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquid propane gas (LPG) is available on the 6.8L V10. Included are hardened engine intake valves plus exhaust valves and valve seats.*

  • TorqShift® Heavy-Duty 6-speed SelectShift™ Automatic Transmission

    The 6-speed TorqShift® SelectShift™ automatic transmission has big, strong gears that take on extra torque, meaning you use fewer rpm because the torque converter locks up at lower speeds. This kind of transmission is normally reserved for high-performance engines because of its strength, durability and ability to withstand high heat. That means you can rev it harder and push it to greater extremes. The SelectShift™ feature, with driver activation, offers two operating modes: With Progressive Range Select, a toggle on the shift lever lets you reduce the range of available gears while in Drive. Tap down into Range Select mode and the display shows the available gears and highlights the one in use. This feature allows you to limit the use of upper gears when heavily loaded or while towing on grades. For Full Manual function, pull the shift lever into “M” for manual mode and use the same toggle switch to select the gear desired. The display will show the selected gear and the control system will lock the torque converter and hold that gear for a full manual transmission feel. The TorqShift® transmission is standard on the 6.2L V8 gas and 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel engines.


  • Safety Canopy® System with roll-fold side-curtain airbags

    Standard in every Super Duty® are frontal airbags plus side airbags for the driver and front seat passenger. SuperCab and Crew Cab models also include the Safety Canopy® System with side curtain airbags for rear seat occupants.*

    Standard on Super Duty® Chassis Cab with single-rear-wheels, Trailer Sway Control helps keep whatever you’re towing doing what you want it to do, not what gravity wants it to do.
